Castlemead FC news
January 2009
For the first time in the Clubs 6 year history, we sit at the top of the league table. Not that we're not used to being at the very end of the table, just never this end before.
With almost all home fixtures played in the first half of the season, the back end is going to mean a lot of "digging deep" performances, with hard games away from home every week.
December 2008
The first ever CFC Xmas Bounce Match was played out at the Marsworth Rd Pitch on 28th December.

Girl allowed to take penalty shock. Fear not, like most of the blokes, she missed.
CFC Old Farts XI/XII vs CFC Young/Fit XI/XII
The 12th players, as those of you conversant in Roman numerals will already have queried, were in fact an extra lady on each team for the last half hour.
Whilst it was a game played only for fun, with the result really not counting (isn't that right Tom?!) after 90mins the score was contrived to be 4-4 (Kevin Burn hat-trick for the Farts) . The Old Farts capitalised on experience and fading light/hypothermia to win the penalty shoot-out.
Cheap beer at the Pitstone Rec bar ensued and a limited Karaoke service was offered to those merry enough to want to take part.
Roll on next year, when the younguns may just have worked out that playing a 3-1-6 system doesn't really work! Well done to Gordon Mackintosh for organising and Dave Lawless for refereeing. Well, kind of refereeing.
